WHS & Wellbeing Officer

  • Full-time/part-time, 3 year fixed-term contract position
  • Based in Adelaide CBD with flexibility and WFH options

Join our People & Culture team to play a vital role in managing LGA House safely and effectively, collaborating with the external building manager and overseeing our self-insured responsibilities to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our people.

Role opportunity

In this exciting opportunity, you'll be responsible for ensuring LGA is safe and compliant with WHS legislation and performance standards for self-insurers.

In this role you will:

  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Participate in risk assessments and contribute to hazard identification processes
  • Promote a positive safety and wellbeing culture through education and engagement activities
  • Monitor compliance with WHS legislation and performance standards for self-insurers
  • Prepare reports, data summaries and updates for internal stakeholders

About you

You'll bring strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management practices and safety systems. You'll have a member-focused perspective and bring expert skills to help drive innovation.

You will need:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent)
  • Lead auditor qualification or experience (desirable).
  • Knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management practices and safety systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships
  • Experience in supporting incident investigations and reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM experience is desirable.
