About the Role

We have a great opportunity for an experienced HSEQ / WHS professional to join our supportive and professional team.

Based in Adelaide, you will work closely with management, supervisors, and both internal and external partners to shape and implement Palumbo's HSEQ strategy and practices.

This role also offers the exciting opportunity to contribute to the marketing and rollout of a new software-based safety system. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is an excellent chance to further your career in a leading construction company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain Palumbo's Management System, contractor compliance, legal obligations, and WHS training records
  • Induct, train, and support employees and contractors to ensure compliance
  • Manage external audits, with strong knowledge of FSC requirements
  • Conduct internal audits of the Management System
  • Perform workplace inspections and prepare WHS, QA, and environmental reports
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and dangerous occurrences
  • Monitor, maintain, and report on KPIs
  • Manage and mentor HSEQ Officers on-site (when applicable)
  • Facilitate WHS meetings with Site Supervisors and Management

Experience & Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS / HSEQ
  • Incident investigation training
  • Workplace assessor and training qualifications

  • Knowledge of:

  • WHS responsibilities (ISO45001 & FSC)

  • Quality Assurance principles (ISO9001)
  • Environmental responsibilities (ISO14001)
  • Experience in HSEQ management, auditing, and reporting, preferably in the construction industry
  • First Aid Certificate
  • White Card and current Driver's Licence

Desirable:

  • Strong computer literacy
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business
