Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a world leader in cloud services, operating large-scale, high-density data centers across the globe. We are expanding our technician teams within the Sydney region and have openings for an Installation Technician trainee. This is an entry level position and a unique opportunity to learn and work in some of the most innovative and fast paced data-centers in the world.

**This position has a physical component and will require**:

- Ability to move and lift computer equipment;
- Able to work from a ladder and EWP (elevated working platform);
- Regularly lift 15kg;
- Wear PPE as required;
- Use hand and power tools;
This is a 6 month trainee position with the opportunity to convert to perm after the program.

Key job responsibilities
- Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data-center;
- Installation and testing of copper and Fiber Optic cabling;
- Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices;
- Creating/attaching labels and barcodes;
- Managing inventory of related materials;
- Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures;
- Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions;
- Have a current driving license and transportation to commute to different locations within the Sydney region.

About the team
The Infrastructure Delivery team consists of a diverse range of builders from around the globe, ranging from trade backgrounds to networking professionals working together to deliver the necessary physical network infrastructure for cloud computing.

Knowledge of network devices, network cabling, optic types, and test equipment, such as VFL, power meter, and OTDR.
Familiarity with Command Line Protocols and serial connections
Open Cablers License; with Structured cable and Fiber cable endorsements.
