About the role

You will be responsible for driving effective engagement with communities and stakeholders impacted by Powerlink's portfolio of infrastructure projects, including new transmission lines and substations.

You will identify and manage reputation risk associated with high risk and / or high-profile projects and create opportunities for input to improve Powerlink decision-making.

You will plan and implement best-practice engagement to manage Powerlink's social licence to operate and reputation.

**Your duties will include, but are not be limited to**:
Targeted and strategic project engagement planning and implementation, including in-field delivery;
Identification, assessment, and mitigation of risk associated with Powerlink's capital program from an engagement and communications perspective;
The development and implementation of communications strategies, processes and approaches to support Powerlink's capital program and related business objectives;
Provision of counsel to Powerlink leaders on project engagement planning, delivery and issues management associated with the company's infrastructure program and activities;
Coordinating government liaison activities on matters associated with Powerlink's capital program in consultation with the Government Relations team as appropriate; and

Deliver supporting collateral such as project newsletters, web and media materials, and other collateral as required.

About the person

To be successful in this role you will be a highly skilled engagement professional with experience working on highly contentious projects.

**You will also have**:
Experience in a stakeholder or community engagement role (particularly in regional communities) within a complex technical organisation;
Proven skills developing and leading best-practice contemporary engagement aligned with the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) on high risk and/or high profile projects;
Experience delivering on project engagement and operational objectives, managing and mitigating risks, monitoring engagement progress, and effectively achieving engagement goals within agreed budget and timeframes;
The ability to prepare effective written communication for a variety of purposes including media material, project briefs, speeches and presentations, copy for specialist publications, and internal reports; and

Proven skills managing public engagement forums or similar activities.
