About the role

In this role, you will lead the team responsible for driving and delivering effective engagement with communities and stakeholders impacted by Powerlink's portfolio of infrastructure projects, including new transmission lines and substations.

You will coordinate a team of Project Engagement Specialists to effectively plan and implement best-practice engagement to manage Powerlink's social licence to operate and reputation.

**Your duties will include, but are not be limited to**:
Lead the team in identifying and managing reputation risk associated with high risk and / or high-profile projects;
Oversight of targeted and strategic project engagement planning and implementation by the Project Engagement Specialists;
Drive the effective identification, assessment and mitigation of risk associated with Powerlink's capital program from an engagement and communications perspective;
Coordinate the development and implementation of communications strategies, processes and approaches;
Liaise with Powerlink General Managers and Managers as required to identify and manage project engagement risks and opportunities; and

Coordinate government liaison activities on matters associated with Powerlink's capital program in consultation with the Government Relations team as appropriate.

About the person

To be successful in this role you will be a highly skilled engagement professional with experience working on high risk / profile projects.

**You will also have**:
Experience managing and developing a team;
Extensive experience in a stakeholder or community engagement role within a complex technical organisation;
Proven skills developing, coordinating, and supporting best-practice contemporary engagement aligned with the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) on high risk and / or high-profile projects;
Experience monitoring the business, political and regulatory environment for potential issues associated with project delivery;
Proven skills liaising effectively with media and strong skills in identification of media opportunities associated with projects to improve reputation and profile;
Ability to critically review prepared written communication for a variety of purposes including media material, project briefs, speeches and presentations, copy for specialist publications, and internal reports; and

Experience managing public engagement forums or similar activities, as needed.
