**What you'll be doing**

The clinician is responsible for the provision of person centred; evidence-based care that promotes positive health outcomes. They will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in collaboration with clients and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. The clinician will work in therapeutic and professional relationships with clients, as well as families, groups, and communities within the Drug & Alcohol Service. Staff are expected to act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote culture and supporting practices that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment through demonstrated behaviours and interactions with patients, clients, and employees.
**This is a temporary Full Time maternity relief position until 2 February 2025 with the possibility of an extension at same/reduced hours**

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

**Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrated experience in the drug and alcohol field and specialist knowledge of; child protection, domestic violence, mental illness, and cultural diversity.
- Demonstrated extensive experience of providing drug and alcohol counselling, and the development and facilitation of group programs.
- Demonstrated high level ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both verbally and in writing, and proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience in quality improvement activities, and service evaluation processes.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence, with the ability to travel in accordance with position responsibilities.
