**About the Role**
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Research Officer to join the University of Melbourne flagship Bio21 Institute, under the supervision of Dr David Stroud and Professor Malcolm McConville. This position will utilize advanced metabolomics approaches, including high resolution mass spectrometry and stable isotope labelling. The position will be involved in the preparation of manuscripts and oral presentations as well as co-supervision of research students.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Undertake independent research on Medical Research Future Fund research projects in the McConville and Stroud groups.
- Provide intellectual leadership in the development of the research project(s) and contribute to collaborations with clinical groups involved in the project(s).
- Contribute to laboratory maintenance and the collection and curation of data and methods.

**Who We Are Looking For**
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with expertise in biological mass spectrometry. You will need to have a demonstrated record of initiative and ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, to meet project goals.

You will also have:

- Undergraduate and Honours/MSc degree in biochemistry/cell biology/microbiology and a PhD in a related discipline (or near completion of PhD).
- Experience in broad range of biochemistry techniques (protein expression, purification, enzymology).
- Authorship on at least one peer-reviewed publication (or equivalent).
