**About the Opportunity**

The Manager, City Lifestyle is responsible for enabling social connection, equity and community wellbeing to ensure the development of a strong and active community supporting participation, volunteering, physical activity and strong community life for all who choose to live or use the city.

You will have a leadership style, which is empowering, supportive, collaborative and drives a positive culture. This will enable you to lead a talented and diverse team to attract the best talent, develop and retain our brilliant people, and build a workplace for the future.

This diverse role includes the management of recreational facilities, Council delivered grants programs across the City Shaping Portfolio, Neighbourhood Development initiatives, Reconciliation programs, Volunteer programs, the delivery of services for youth, ageing and other identified city user groups and leading projects in your area of responsibility.

Some of the programs and initiatives include:

- the Development of a Community Wellbeing Plan
- the Review of the Active City Strategy
- the Development of a Community Development Strategy

**About You**

To be successful in this role you will have a sound understanding, knowledge, and experience in:

- Proven ability to provide motivational leadership to a multi-functional team, which continually enhances and builds the team’s capability and performance.
- Strategies of building community capacity to enable wellbeing in rapidly growing and changing neighbourhood settings.
- Experience in recreation activities in the Government or non-Government sectors and in the instigation, development and implementation of recreation programs, events and activities.
- Current and emerging social, economic and environmental policy directions of the Australian and State governments; and community development and service planning.
- Working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Knowledge of Property Management practices and Acts, regulations and legislation and in the principles and processes relating to property management specifically including lease management and renewal, lease negotiations, leases reviews and tenant client management.
- Development and management of high level inter-governmental and community partnerships.
- Development and implementation of policies strategies and large-scale programs and services that result in community wellbeing.
