The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Adviser to join our Clients and Markets (C&M) team in either Sydney or Brisbane on a full-time basis.

You will be part of a national team providing professional support to our Partners in the Major Projects and Construction practice group.

In this fast-paced role, your key responsibilities will be:

- Prepare and project manage tender/proposal submissions - including preparing, writing, providing strategy and project managing from start to finish.
- Assist C&M team with preparation of Legal Directories.
- Support partners and C&M team to drive business development initiatives including business forums and industry events.
- Analyse general market, industry specific, competitor and prospective client research to support business development initiatives.
- Participate in various national and department-based C&M projects.
- Develop profile and credibility with internal clients (partners, lawyers and support staff), promoting the C&M function, its expertise and capabilities.
- Supporting C&M colleagues to develop and execute the practice strategies and priorities for the Major Projects and Construction group and more broadly across the business.
- Other ad-hoc activities as required by the Business Development Manager.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated skills and experience with tenders/proposals including preparing, drafting, strategy, writing and project management are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proven consistency in delivering high quality work, being responsive and meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to adjust and respond to varying and moving deadlines.
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral with exceptionally strong attention to detail
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, the ability to build rapport and relationships, with a strong influencing and consulting style.
- The ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels.
- Curiosity and intellect - an ability to ask the right questions and be solutions-focussed.
