**About the opportunity**

The Brian Metcalf Chair in Biological Chemistry will drive an aspiring program across molecular sciences and is expected to deliver paradigm-shifting research with a cross-functional program of experimental science at the intersection of chemistry and biology. The Chair will engage and foster opportunities for collaboration across the molecular sciences, within the School, across the University and with external partners and organisations.

The Brian Metcalf Chair in Biological Chemistry will present an internationally recognised track record of excellence in research, supported by peer reviewed grants and publications. The Chair will be an effective, inclusive, supportive, and future orientated leader with demonstrated experience of managing and engaging an inclusive and diverse team. They will show commitment to mentoring and supporting high-performing research staff, including post-doctoral associates, and have demonstrated success in the professional development of students, including the supervision of PhD students to timely completion.
