Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is recruiting a Proposals Lead to service the Australian and South East Asian (APAC) region. We would like to engage with a driven individual with commercial knowledge of the region and experience within the project management and proposals environment. The role is based in Perth and reports to the Head of Proposals.
In this role you will hold overall responsibility for the preparation and production of business-critical winning work documentation including proposals, qualifications, requests for information and expressions of interest. Embedding best practice in the region as well as creating content, reviewing and understanding technical and commercial themes within the proposals, you will work and collaboratively with the Business Development community. Your ability to prioritise and manage multiple scheduling and resourcing constraints and conflicts will be well regarded.
Holding an autonomous role and working within the wider Consulting proposals function and the framework outlined by functional leadership elements of your role will also cover:
- Ownership of proposal development and related processes and procedures, including written proposals, oral presentations, Best and Final Offers, Evaluation Notices, Final Proposal Revisions
- Management of the development of expressions of interest, pre-qualifications and proposal responses following the Identify, Acquire and Deliver (IAD) Process
- Working with the Pursuit Teams, driving the development of the proposal win strategy and value proposition
- Creating and owning the bid responsibility matrix and bid kick off meetings to ensure clear and unambiguous ownership of the proposals from key stakeholders
- Ensure that the technical content including project execution methodology and supporting documents are prepared
- Proof-reading and editing content to ensure continuity and compliance with legal, technical, and marketing specifications
- Facilitate strategy review sessions and coordinating feedback received into the proposal response
- Manage Risk Management processes and support Tender Governance Process (TGP) to prepare / submit proposals
- Regular engagement with management to establish and manage the proposal strategy and IAD process
- Assisting the Business Development team members with pre-bid activities such as presentations, pre-qualification, and expressions of interest
- Participate in the development of the win strategy and themes for new business proposals
- Manage and lead the IAD process to ensure strategy alignment and client requirements are met
- Write and edit proposals as required and coach writers on correct structure and content
- Identify and mitigate risk and opportunities for new business proposals and the subsequent contract execution
- Identify graphics requirements / opportunities and coordinate their development
- Coordinate the clarification, award and handover to delivery process

- Engineering degree or equivalent / similar
- Association of Proposals Managers accreditation would be well regarded
- Demonstrates sufficient technical understanding across key consulting sectors to interpret and communicate technical issues with both internal and external stakeholders
- Commitment to identify, analyse and propose solutions to problems in a constructive and positive manner
- Ability to review proposal documents and ensure the highest quality responses are included within the overall proposal response with key, consistent, messages used throughout
- Willing to challenge norms and driven to enhance quality and presentation of input received from authors in the bid team
- Effective communication skills particularly in writing clearly and concisely with impact and meaning
- Able to effectively summarise messages and key aspects of a strategy when relaying information / guidance to a team
- Strong organisational and planning skills, able to drive a team through the proposals process whilst maintaining the schedule together with strong facilitation skills, able to control a room for group sessions
