**About the Business**

Our Disability Services team support people with disability to lead their best life, at home and in the community. They provide supported independent living to more than 500 people through a range of disability and aged care funding packages, including the NDIS. Disability Services is a high quality, rights-based service with a person-centred philosophy of "Everything about you, with you".

**About the Role**

This role involves providing support to people with disability overnight, including a combination of active and passive support.
The typical night shift is 12 hours, from 7pm to 7:15am.
The shift includes 6.25 hours of active support and 6 hours of passive support.
You’ll assist clients with their evening routine, such as finishing dinner, unwinding from the day, personal hygiene and preparing for bed.
Once clients are asleep, you’ll stay on site to be available for support as needed.
In the morning you may help them with getting up and getting ready for the day.
Shifts are paid in line with the Intellectual Disability Services Award which means the passive portion of the shift is paid at 50% of the active rate.
If you are needed during the passive portion of the shift, you will be paid a minimum of one hour at the active duty rate or more if you need to be awake longer.
Shift hours may vary, but the active component of the shift will always be at least half of the shift.
Staff are provided with a dedicated space to sleep and relax.
The room is fitted out with a king single bed, linen including spare blankets, a side table, and a lamp.
The room has a lockable door for privacy, lockable drawers for personal items, a smoke alarm, heating and cooling, and meets workplace health and safety requirements.

**About You**

We’re looking for experienced disability support workers who can provide both active and passive overnight supports.
We are looking for staff with previous experience working nights.
You will need to be available for night shifts across a seven-day roster.
Successful applicants must hold:

- a National Police Check
- an Employment-related Screening Check
- a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
- a certificate III Individual Support - Disability, Certificate III Disability or above.

- Current, full, C Class Australian drivers’ licence
- A current Certificate in Provide First Aid
- A satisfactory Disability Services Screening Assessment conducted by the Department, or a current NDIS Worker Check
- Demonstrate to our satisfaction that you are physically capable of carrying out all the duties of the position which may be at your own expense
- Compulsory attendance at an Induction/Training Program, Mentoring and other relevant training deemed necessary by the department
