About the role

The Salvation Army Emergency Services (SAES) is responsible for coordinating all emergency and disaster response services for TSA.

The primary purpose of the Volunteer Coordinator position is to develop a Volunteer workforce plan for SAES program and to support the SEAS State Response Coordinators and Recovery Specialists with the management of their volunteer workforce.

You will successfully
- Support SAES State Response Coordinators & Recovery Specialists with volunteer recruitment and retention, including advertising and developing volunteer position descriptions.
- Lead the development and implementation of a National SAES response and recovery volunteer recruitment plan in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Support the Response Coordinators and Recovery Specialists to foster strong engagement, continued growth, participation and development of volunteers.
- Work in alignment with the Volunteer Resources team to ensure alignment with TSA policy, procedure and best proactive volunteer involvement.

This is a full-time, permanent position located in Redfern, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability award Level 3.

You will have
- Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training is desirable
- Demonstrated Experience in Managing Volunteers in the not-for-profit sector.
- Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills essential.
- An ability to work with a large diverse group of volunteers
- A national police record check is required
- A current and valid Working with Children’s Check
