**Overview**

The **Women's & Children's Health Network** provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

**The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) **is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services / perinatal women.

**The Opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Northern Southern Metropolitan Team as a Aboriginal Social & Emotional Wellbeing Officer in a **Full time (1FTE) temporary contract **until** 1st September 2025**.

As the Aboriginal Social & Emotional Wellbeing Officer you are responsible for ensuring optimal consumer care. Addressing cultural safety and undertaking culturally informed engagement, assessment, education/advocacy, counselling and group work are considered essential components of care which is directed towards consumer health and recovery. This involves ongoing consultation, liaison and co work with other CAMHS disciplines, government and non-government organisations.

**About You**

The CAMHS Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Worker will be accountable for the outcomes of their practice with Aboriginal children, adolescents their families with social and emotional and/or mental health issues, and for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy.
