**Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)**

**The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)** is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, state-wide and hospital-based services for perinatal women.

Our services include:

- Triage of mental health difficulties
- Comprehensive mental health assessment
- Individual and family therapy
- Group programmes
- Information provision to parents/carers and key partners such as schools, GPs, hospitals, government and nongovernment organisations

Our multi-disciplinary teams include:

- Aboriginal Mental Health Workers
- Administration Workers
- Lived Experience and peer Workers
- Nurses
- Occupational Therapists
- Psychologists
- Psychiatrists
- Speech Pathologists
- Social Workers

**The Opportunity**

An exciting opportunity exists within **CAMHS Morphett Vale **to join us as an **Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical Nurse (AHP2/RN2C).**

Within the framework of the National Mental Health Policy and the Standards for Mental Health Services and in a manner consistent with the stated Vision and Values of the Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) the CAMHS Clinician provides clinical expertise for children, adolescents and their families with mental health issues.

The CAMHS Therapist primarily provides direct expert care for an individual or group of clients and/or providing clinical leadership to multidisciplinary staff.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Educational/Vocational Qualifications:

- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Australia OR
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers OR
- Registered or eligible for registration as a nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.

Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills:

- Demonstrated ability to relate to people from a diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work and contribute positively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality client centred service to the patient.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under mínimal supervision.

**Experience**:

- Problem solving, negotiation and conflict management.
- The development of appropriate mental health care plans, in collaboration with colleagues, consumers and families.
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team.

Knowledge:

- Knowledge of a variety of assessment and intervention models for working with children, adolescent and families.
- Understanding of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, standards, codes, ethics and competency standards.
- Knowledge of relevant community resources.
