An exciting opportunity exists for a Library Services Officer to join our dynamic team.
- Salary range: From $70,536 to $76,022 p.a. (HEW 4), plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
- Full time, continuing appointment 1.0 FTE
- Macquarie University Library, Wallumattagul Campus Macquarie Park

THE ROLE

This role is situated in the Information Services Team within the Client Experience Department (Academic Library Services). In this role you will work as part of a team to deliver quality and responsive frontline Library services including rostered shifts at digital and physical service points, providing timely and accurate customer support for clients in the use of Library’s services and accessing collections.

The role collaborates with colleagues to provide administrative support for the Library’s enquiry channels and rostering systems, including contributing to service improvements and the delivery of quality information services. You will also participate in provision of on-the-job training to support the induction and training of new staff in service delivery.

About You

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, experienced and collaborative Library professional.

To succeed in this position, you will bring your strong customer service skills and have a proven track record in providing high quality and responsive client services, with the ability to accurately triage, answer and refer queries as required. You maintain professional integrity whilst accessing and using client records in line with compliance and privacy regulations.

Experience in working with Springshare products such as LibAnswers, LibChat or LibStaffer will be an advantage.

To Apply
- Diploma level qualification in an information management related discipline with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, and
- Demonstrated skill in providing high quality customer service with a proven ability to provide responsive, accurate and timely support and information to clients, and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Well-developed organisational skills, with demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to manage and meet conflicting deadlines.
- Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in productivity software, such as Microsoft Office, library management systems and online information resources
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within and across teams contributing positively to team operations and working relationships.

This role requires evening and weekend shift work, and manual handling, including physical collection items.
