About City of Ryde Libraries
City of Ryde Libraries comprises of five branches at Ryde, West Ryde, North Ryde, Eastwood, Gladesville as well as a significant online library. Our libraries are places of social inclusion where members of our community borrow items for leisure and lifelong learning, learn about new technology, participate in activities, attend children's and adults programs, and using our spaces for studying. They are lively, busy places and serve a culturally diverse customer base.
About the Role
As the Library Administration Officer, you will be crucial in supporting our Library Services Leadership Team and five library branches through the coordination of a range of administrative tasks: from managing correspondence, maintaining databases and ensuring sound records management practices, organising meetings and team workshops, handling cash reconciliations and processing invoices. You'll also work in our Library Branches to perform desk and shift supervisor duties as required.
This position is perfect for a proactive individual who enjoys a diverse and dynamic work environment, making a meaningful impact on our community. The Library Administration Officer is integral to the delivery of a high quality and accessible library service to the City of Ryde Community and is a rewarding and varied role.
Core Hours: Monday to Friday 8:45am to 5:00pm. This role includes working one evening shift (12:45pm to 9:00pm) approximately every 3-4 weeks.
About You
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented individual who excels in a dynamic team setting. You are someone who takes initiative, has a strong sense of responsibility, and is committed to delivering exceptional administrative support to both colleagues and patrons of the Library Services. Your excellent communication skills and ability to multitask will enable you to manage the diverse demands of this role effectively.
In addition, you will also have:
- Certificate III in Business Administration and/or equivalent experience in a fast-paced administration role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to prioritise and schedule own work
- Previous experience working in a Library Branch Service is highly desirable
Please note: This is a Child Related position and employment is subject to verification of the Working With Children Check status. The cost of obtaining a WWC clearance is at the applicant's expense.

Your commencing annual salary will range from $66,841 to $76, % increase from July Superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
