An exciting opportunity exists for a Resources and Discovery Officer to lead and join our dynamic team.
- From $70,535 to $76,022 (HEW 4) p.a. plus 17% super and annual leave loading
- Full-time, continuing
- Based at Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde.

THE ROLE

This is a role in the Collection Services team which is part of the Resources and Discovery Unit of Macquarie University Library. Collection Strategies Collection Services focusses on ensuring equitable, streamlined access to collections, including critical required readings, through services related to resource sharing, digitisation, unit readings and targeted services for cohorts including distance students and accessible formats.

Your role in the team will be to provide workflow support for electronic and physical collections acquisitions and content development, and support associated services for unit readings and interlibrary loans.

This role is required to undertake evening and weekend shifts and to undertake manual handling activities including physical collection items.

About You

You will draw on your knowledge of Library workflows and practice in procurement, discovery, and management of the research/scholarly communication lifecycle. You will have knowledge of integrated library management and discovery systems, metadata creation, standards and workflows and have working knowledge of metadata and cataloguing standards. You will have strong computer skills with proficiency in productivity software such as Microsoft Office, and familiarity with library management systems, and internet searching.

You will be able to operate effectively in a team, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships.

- Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline such as information management, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, qualifications and training.
