**About the role**

**Your responsibilities**

In this role, the key responsibilities include:

- Maintain and analyse Council's ten-year plant program including calculating whole life costs and optimum replacement times.
- Ensure vehicles are replaced in accordance with the Fleet Management Guidelines
- Lead and support the Fleet team through teamwork, communication and providing accurate advice.
- Co-ordinate a variety of tasks associated with the commissioning and de-commissioning of Council’s vehicles.
- Ensure all activities undertaken by both the Fleet team and external service providers are in accordance with the requirements of government authorities.
- Undertake and plan vehicle registration inspections including heavy vehicle inspection requirements and RTA bookings.
- Ensure accuracy of Council’s plant and equipment service and maintenance history, online fuel management systems and fleet management software packages.
- Authorize the data fuel system and complete timesheets and material supply requisitions.
- Identify and follow up on users who incur infringement notices to ensure payment.
- Manage all aspects of fleet contractors, orders and invoicing.

**About the person**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Tertiary qualification (Degree, diploma or similar) in an Automotive Industry.
- Extensive relevant experience (3 years or more) in an Automotive Industry.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, as well as outstanding teamwork skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant Fleet Management Guidelines as it relates to Fleet matters.
