Reporting to the CRO, this is a stand-alone role initially, with scope to grow the team as the business progresses. This role is a great chance to utilise your Commercial SME experience and step into a really varied and fast paced role. Credit Decisioning is the key focus of the role, along within refining the Credit Risk Management framework. You will enjoy the chance to work with seasoned executives and exposure to all senior leaders, whilst developing relationships with key internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

- All activities associated with implementing the organisation’s credit risk model, in line with regulatory requirements
- Assessing credit worthiness of SME applicants using the risk grading system
- Refine and optimise the credit risk grade system and relevant policies
- Work with the Board to assess credit risk appetite and adjust parameters accordingly. Provide advice on material credit risks. Scenario development. Credit risk reporting
- Providing 2nd line risk advice on the customer on-boarding process
- Review and challenge stress testing parameters
- Monitor regulatory credit provision

To be successful in the role it is essential that you have 10 years plus senior credit experience supporting Commercial SME’s. This will include credit underwriting experience, modelling and risk background. You are a capable communicator, able to demonstrate that you can present to senior leaders at Board level. Experience dealing with regulators and a working knowledge of relevant prudential standards is also essential. You will be someone with a “can do” attitude who is happy to roll their sleeves up and get involved in the nitty gritty, and able to cope with a fast moving environment.
