**The Role**
The Assistant Director Workforce Strategy and Planning will lead a small team in the development and delivery of the CASG Strategic Workforce Plan and Workforce Strategy. You will be responsible for ensuring that CASG understands the demands on its current workforce, forecasts its future workforce requirements, and that our integrated workforce is aligned to our highest priorities.
The Assistant Director Workforce Strategy and Planning will engage across the Group and broader Department to mature our workforce planning capability, ensuring that workforce risks are anticipated and mitigated. You will collaborate with delivery divisions to develop robust, evidence-based and achievable workforce plans, and will provide expert advice on workforce planning activities including workforce design, demand, supply and gap analysis, strategies and risks.
**About our Team**
The Workforce Program Management Office (PMO) forms part of the Strategy, Planning and Independent Assurance Division. We are responsible for leading and implementing the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group Workforce Strategy across an integrated workforce comprising Australian Public Service employees, Australian Defence Force personnel and contracted resources.
Responsible for planning and forecasting workforce requirements, the Workforce PMO ensures that CASG understands and anticipates the workforce it needs to achieve delivery outcomes across complex and protracted projects. We develop and maintain a forecast of the total workforce CASG requires to support the delivery of capability, ensuring that our workforce balance is correct and workforce demand is anticipated.
The Workforce PMO also manages the CASG Contractor Strategy, particularly in relation to above the line contractors. This includes working with delivery divisions to ensure our contractor resources are aligned to CASG priorities, performing at the required standard and achieving value for money.
- Experience undertaking workforce planning and delivering workforce strategies in a large, complex organisation.
- Demonstrated research and analytical skills with a proven ability to interrogate workforce data, identify trends and provide expert advice on optimal solutions to complex workforce risks.
- Strong written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality briefings, reports and other documentation for senior decision-makers.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and negotiation skills, and the proven ability to influence stakeholders.
