**The Role**
The APS Professionalisation directorate has new opportunities available for enthusiastic and highly motivated people at APS 5, APS 6 and EL 1 levels. These positions will be instrumental in driving enterprise-level professionalisation across Defence APS. A highly skilled workforce, in the right numbers, with the right culture is key to delivering Defence capability.

APS Professionalisation is a key dimension for building that capability, defining and drawing together recruitment, occupational standards, skill requirements, education and training, employment conditions, policy making, leadership, career management and much more into guiding frameworks, professions and career pathways. On a day-to-day basis, you will work collaboratively to build enterprise capability. You will:

- Lead complex to very complex workforce research in line with Defence APS workforce capability, including but not limited to:

- Data analysis
- Desktop research
- Stakeholder engagement
- All aspects of professionalisation throughout the employment lifecycle.
- Lead and project manage the design, implementation and sustainment of APS Professionalisation products as required. This might include strategies, career pathways, reports, tools, performance metrics, communication and marketing products.
- Work collaboratively across teams to share expertise and contribute to delivery of business outcomes.
- Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide verbal and written advice and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Lead and contribute to forward work plans, development of committee and parliamentary briefs as required.

This position has people management responsibility and as such you will be required to exercise your people management skills and knowledge to lead a high performing and cohesive team.
