**The Role**
In addition to the roles detailed below, we will be establishing a merit pool for filling similar vacancies in the next 18 months.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Reporting to a Director in the Organisation Design Branch, our Assistant Directors are responsible for:
- Overseeing the delivery of strategies, frameworks and programs to deliver meaningful and measurable outcomes to DEWR people and culture
- Leading, coaching and developing a team to build expert capability by fostering a culture of curiosity, respect and excellence
- Contributing to branch leadership including work planning, resource management and aligning priorities with business outcomes
- Providing complex advice and problem solving on strategic workforce management matters
- Recommending strategic direction for people and culture initiatives in line with broader Australian Public Service (APS) programs, such as the APS Reform priorities and actions
- Engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders to identify issues and opportunities, developing and consulting on solutions, and establishing partnerships to implement and embed initiatives
- Fostering a positive risk culture through understanding and engaging with risk, briefing up on key issues and recommending risk treatments as required
- Contributing to innovation and leading a team that continuously evaluates and improves ways of working, taking an agile approach to managing change
- Representing the work section at relevant meetings, Committees or networks.
