Join our team of advisors to support our Safety & Wellbeing strategy across one of Australia's largest not-for-profit aged care providers

This role is required to provide safety and wellbeing advice and guidance to ensure that all legislative and operational health, safety, and wellbeing requirements are met, and the safety and wellbeing of employees and customers remain at the highest standard.

Provide advice and implement strategies across a complex NFP business;

"Always safe" is a foundations value. In this position, you will build strong internal relationships to actively reinforce and promote wellbeing, health, and safety across the organisation. Working with operational staff you will become a trusted advisor for all things safety and risk management, providing practical advice and solutions. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that are related to key business risks.

Based at South Melbourne, North Melbourne, Forest Hill, Dandenong, or Ravenhall Office, with hybrid working arrangement, and may need to attend other sites as required.

**You will**:
Evaluate incident notifications and support the undertaking of investigations to establish root causes with Supervisors and Managers;
Collaborate with sites to conduct audits to identify and minimise health and safety risks to employees and the Company. This includes facilitating risk assessments and identifying unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, and assisting with recommendations for corrective action and implementing effective solutions;
Provide advice in line with Legislation, Standards, Codes of Practice and organisational policies and procedures;
Assist in the implementation of health and safety systems, policies and practices and collaborate with sites so requirements are effectively implemented and opportunities for improvement are identified;
Assist in the delivery of safety training programs which up-skill staff and managers with safety knowledge and hazard management

Support health and safety committees and representatives for specific portfolios;
Provide excellent customer service and build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure a safe working environment;
Provide support to all business functions with Safety and Wellbeing and General meetings; and

Please note - Some intra or interstate travel will be required for this role.

About you

You are a positive role model with a proactive approach for delivering exceptional customer service. You have excellent communication, and relationship skills and are able to work with your stakeholders to find practical solutions that manage risk and develop a proactive safety culture.

**You will bring**:
Certificate IV (minimum), or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or relevant discipline, or experience deemed equivalent by the Company. Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety highly regarded;
Qualification in the health field, i.e., allied heath, nursing would be highly regarded, with a good understanding of workplace health, safety, and wellbeing;
Significant experience in relevant health and safety field, with experience in aged care, community care or health highly valued

Proven experience in providing advice in Health, Safety and Wellbeing in a customer-focused service environment;
Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders through effective professional communication; and

Competent computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and database management. Experience with RiskMan would be valued

Fire Safety Manager training or experience, Lead Auditor and Training/Assessing qualifications would be highly regarded.
