We have an exciting opportunity in our People & Culture team for a Work Health & Safety (WHS) Officer.

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, you will be part of a dynamic team that adds value to the organization through the provision of expert advice on employee conditions and Legislation/Award/Policy interpretation and guidance to make sound business decisions. A key aspect of this role is to provide services, advice, and strategic projects regarding work health and safety to eHealth NSW business units. The broader aspect is to utilise their work health and safety knowledge and skills to support the workforce in maintaining a safe workplace.

**What you will do**

As an integral member of the People & Culture Team, you will:

- Assist in the implementation of work health and safety management system packages, programs, and projects.
- Advise and support across the business regarding physical and psychosocial safety including mental health and wellbeing.
- Provide support to Business units to identify and eliminate and/or control risks, conduct quality incident management investigation and reporting, reduce injury and illness, and improve work health and safety performance.
- Prepare correspondence, written reports, publications, and briefs, that are informative and aligned with agency requirements.

**About you**

The skills, knowledge and experience we are looking for in you are:

- Relevant experience in the large service industry with a diverse and complex environment in providing work health and safety advice in a workplace setting and/or equivalent tertiary or technical qualifications.
- Experience in the implementation of work health and safety management system packages, programs, and projects within business units to support.
- Able to coach, advise, and direct managers, business partners, and workers on work health and safety processes & practices.
- Experience or interest in psychological health and safety is highly desirable.
- A good understanding of the WorkSafe Australia legislation including psychosocial Codes of Practice.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

To be eligible for this role, you must have current Australian work rights (Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen with a current passport, or hold a valid visa with permission to work in Australia).
