**About the role**:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Inner City Health Stream. The Peer Work Coordinator will lead and coordinate a team comprised of Lived Experience Peer Workers and support Peer workers use their own lived experience to provide support, education, and guidance to help people navigate their treatment journey.

The primary responsibility of the Peer Coordinator will be to support and lead peer workers assisting clients/consumers that present to St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney (SVHS) with drug and alcohol related conditions, mental health and social issues impacting on their health and wellbeing. SVHS care for high numbers of clients/consumers with complex and multiple comorbidities, as well as social issues including homelessness. Working within a strengths-based framework as part of Inner City Health, this position will assist clients/consumers of SVHS to develop a dialogue between mainstream health and community-based services.

**Selection Criteria**:
1.Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission, and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.

2. A lived experience of substance use, and/or mental health and/or homelessness.and experiences of accessing public treatment services.

3. Experience in the health care sector with demonstrated ability to engage with a range of multidisciplinary teams and Senior Managers and experience working with vulnerable clients with complex health and psycho-social needs in a community setting.

4. Commitment to peer led and co-designed service development and the ability to provide leadership to a team of Lived Experience Peer Workers in a non-clinical setting.

5. Proven ability to engage meaningfully with local communities with the aim of improving health and wellbeing.

6. Demonstrated knowledge of strengths based, recovery oriented and trauma informed approaches and the ability to link clients to appropriate services.

8. Effective time management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet conflicting deadlines.
