**About the company**

A local government based in the western suburbs are looking for a Learning and Development Officer to support their people and culture department. The organisation operates a hybrid work style, 3 days from home and 2 from the office. This is a full-time role, working Monday through to Friday. The position is initially contracted until May 2024, but it could lead to longer term opportunities. This role requires someone to support the People and Culture Organisational Development Coordinator to identify Council workforce needs, ensuring programs and offerings respond to workforce planning, orgnisational capabilities and business unit needs.

**Your key responsibilities include**:

- Develop, implement and evaluate innovative learning and development programs, frameworks and practices that support the goals and objectives of the organisation and respond to the professional and personal development needs and growth of Council’s workforce
- Support the People and Culture Organisational Development Coordinator to identify Council workforce needs, ensuring programs and offerings respond to workforce planning, orgnisational capabilities and business unit needs
- Oversee the corporate development function within the organisation including scheduling workshops, preparing training resources and managing attendance as well and administering pre and post training activities
- Maximise training participation rates and effectiveness through proactive planning and engagement of key stakeholders
- Support the design and delivery of People and Culture internal training, awareness and development sessions and programs
- Conduct the administration and promotion of development initiatives
- Maintain the Induction Framework within Council including the facilitation of Corporate Induction sessions
- Work in partnership with services units in the provision of on-the
- job training and development of staff
- Support the administration of relevant workplace planning processes including the Talent and Success Planning Framework

**You will have the following**:

- Tertiary qualification and relevant experience in the development and delivery of training and development programs in a multi-functional organisation.
- Proven ability to develop and implement learning and development programs that reflect organisational development needs.
- A thorough understanding of adult learning principles and the principles of effective learning and development.
- Proven consultancy skills with the ability to interpret and provide advice on learning and development requirements.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to gain cooperation of managers and staff at all levels within the organisation.
- Ability to manage learning and development projects within agreed budget and timelines.
