The Navy Strategic Committees Team Leader will work with the Director Navy Strategic Committees Secretariat to lead a team providing a range of business and information support functions to Navy senior leadership.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.
Some of the key duties of this role are:
- Manage information and records management activities in accordance with relevant legislation and Defence policies and procedures.
- Provide advice and interpret policy requirements for the submission of information to Enterprise Committees.
- Manage schedules including the programming of committee meetings and briefings for Navy Senior Leadership.
- Conduct compliance monitoring and reporting activities.
- Create and foster functioning networks and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure advice to personnel and manage the priorities and needs to achieve outcomes; and
- Have experience managing and controlling security classified Defence documentation and information.
**About our Team**
Working to the Director Navy Strategic Committees Secretariat, you are part of the executive team that is embedded in a dynamic environment. You will be part of the Navy Strategic Committees Secretariat team which currently consists of five people who support Navy participation in committees.
You are accountable for a small team who have a key focus on managing information and coordinating briefings and meetings for Navy Senior Leadership, providing specialist advice & support related to Navy and Defence Enterprise committees.
To succeed in this role, applicants will be required to demonstrate:
- The ability to lead a team.
- Excellent judgement, problem solving skills and initiative.
- Excellent liaison skills.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, high performing team; and
- Ability to handle highly sensitive information in accordance with government security requirements.
