A little bit about the role
Reporting to the Manager Governance and Legal, a primary contact for Councillors and the Executive, you will provide administrative support to the Governance and Legal department. Consequently, as a confident Administration and Support Officer you should be comfortable dealing regularly with the Mayor and Councillors as well as the CEO and Executives.
You will play a vital role in maintaining statutory compliance and ensuring high-quality customer service for key internal and external stakeholders. Superior attention to detail is a must as you provide administrative support such as drafting Councillor correspondence, organising meetings, managing diary appointments, coordinating room bookings, catering, and audiovisual setups. This is a varied and dynamic role where you will also work with the Governance Team to organise civic events such as citizenship ceremonies including in evenings and public holidays (paid overtime). Other key responsibilities include processing Councillor allowances and expenses that must be regularly and accurately processed.

This role suits a proactive and solutions-oriented individual - an experienced administrator who takes great pride in providing outstanding customer service and responds to all queries in a professional and respectful manner.
