The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. **About the role**:
The Project Officer supports the CEO, Deputy CEO and Office of the CEO team on divisional and departmental priority projects. The Project Officer is part of a small team working collaboratively across a range of areas including administration, coordination of executive and ministerial matters, briefings and meetings, advisory, communications and events, Cabinet and Parliamentary processes, and reporting.

- An excellent communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to work?
The role is a key coordination link between the Office of the CEO and the Office of the Secretary, other departmental divisions and Ministerial Offices.
The role requires a highly organised and methodical individual with a communicative and collaborative approach, initiative and the ability to work with mínimal supervision, so as to ensure that deadlines are met, and a high standard of work is achieved.
**Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate**:
- Planning and organising skills: Identifies processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal; identifies more and less critical activities and operates accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required; develops and implements systems and procedures to guide work and track progress; recognises barriers and finds effective ways to deal with them.
- Project management skills: Consults, liaises with and influences key stakeholders; produces detailed project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified; monitors performance against objectives and manages project risks and issues; ensures project objectives are met.
- Knowledge of the department and its operating practices as well as government processes and information systems would be advantageous.
