**Introduction**

Hays is proud to partner with the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) in preparation for the next Federal Election.

**About the Position**

The purpose of the Temporary Support Officer Level 2 role is to perform a range of administration, project and operational support duties as directed by AEC staff in relation to activities related to the anticipated Referendum.

**Position Duties**:

- General administration duties including processing mail and data entry
- Maintain the electoral roll and conduct vote scrutinies.
- Identify and report issues, take appropriate action, escalate as required
- Management of small, non-complex projects in relation to election activities
- Perform tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and AEC policies and guidelines
- Other duties as directed by AEC staff
- Supervise staff employed under the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 or in Temporary Support Officer position Level 1
- Ability to work non-standard or extended hours
- Ability to work within a team to complete tasks and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills, actively contributes to discussions
- Monitors task progress against performance expectations and makes alternative arrangements if behind schedule
- Works independently with a high level of accuracy, seeks feedback
- Able to identify issues, alerts supervisor, suggests improvements
- Demonstrates sound judgement and ability to make decisions under guidance
- Responds positively to change, is adaptable and willing to be flexible
- Demonstrated personal integrity and professionalism
- Previous experience in customer service or administration

**Eligibility**

Due to the nature of this role, to be eligible for this position applicants
**must**:

- be an Australian Citizen
- be able to obtain and maintain a Police Check
- be able to sign a Political Neutrality Statement
- be able to provide contact details of two referees, including a current supervisor.
