The Communications Officer is responsible to the Manager, Communications for delivering responsive and effective marketing services and projects, which support increased stakeholder awareness of the department and its initiatives. The role contributes to the development, implementation and evaluation of marketing campaigns, communications strategies, branding strategies, communication bulletins and promotional activities, and provides advice and facilitation services to schools, preschools, and other Department for Education services to support logo development and relevant approval processes.

The Communications Officer is also responsible for providing timely and accurate advice, information and responses to queries, issues, or correspondence on a range of marketing-related matters and contributing to the effective organisation, operation and delivery of the directorate's programs, strategies and objectives.

The role works within a team assigned to provide communications and marketing services and functions including internal communications and creative services. Within this context the position needs to demonstrate a high level of responsiveness, flexibility, resilience, and customer focused service that meets the fluidity and diversity of the audience and constantly changing priorities.

**Qualifications**:
**Desirable**: Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, public relations or related discipline and/or relevant experience in these areas.

***Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
