**About the Role**:
The Communications Officer is responsible for monitoring mailboxes and compiling media reports, responding to online and phone queries in a timely manner, reviewing, compiling, and distributing EDMs, record keeping, publishing online content, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information is important and a sound understanding of the media is highly valuable.

The role works within a team assigned to provide timely and accurate advice and information on a range of communications, marketing and media issues contributing to the effective organisation, operation and delivery of the communication directorate's programs, strategies and objectives.

Within this context the position needs to demonstrate a high level of responsiveness, flexibility, resilience and customer focused service that meets the fluidity and diversity of the audience and constantly changing priorities.

**Qualifications**:
**Desirable**: A relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or related discipline.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
ASO3 $66,590 - $70,968 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation
