We have an exciting opportunity to manage the Emergency Management coordination within Latrobe City Council.

**About the Role**

Within this key role you will be responsible for leading the management and coordination of Latrobe City Council's Emergency management responsibilities, including disaster relief and recovery. You will oversee Latrobe City Council's Municipal Fire Prevention and Inspection program, provide strategic advice in respect to Emergency Management and provide strong leadership in coordination with other response and recovery agencies.

**About You**

If you have well developed leaderships skills, have the ability to build effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and have the ability to resolve and solve problems at a strategic level this role will be an invaluable opportunity.

**You will also have**:

- Degree or Diploma in Emergency Management Public Safety or a related field plus post graduate qualifications or lesser qualifications and diverse experience in both operational areas and management.
- A minimum of Level 2 Incident Controller and a thorough understanding of roles and responsibilities of response agencies is desirable.
- Experience in managing relief, response and recovery activities in a collaborative way with community and stakeholders. This will be demonstrated by expertise and proven ability in successfully leading, managing and delivering to the key responsibility areas, with proven specialist skills and experience management.
- Technical understanding of Emergency Management legislation and proven ability to implement legislation.
- Proven problem-solving ability that involves day to day judgement on operational issues.
