**About the role**:
An opportunity for 1 x Injury Management and Rehabilitation Consultant to be part of our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Division. Position located in Morwell, Warragul or Wonthaggi.
The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Taskforce (the Taskforce) is the single most significant investment in the health, safety and wellbeing of Victoria Police employees. The Taskforce has been established to improve prevention and response to work related injuries. The Taskforce is establishing six Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT), based in hubs across the state, enhancing employee's mental health, injury prevention, early intervention, and recovery support. These newly created position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to supporting employees.
The Injury Management and Rehabilitation Consultant provides early and ongoing management to support ill and injured employees, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. The position will work closely and collaboratively with local managers, employees and in consultation with all stakeholders, to achieve a safe and sustainable remain at work or early return to work outcomes.
Reporting to the Injury Management Team Leader you will manage a portfolio of claims for the Region, ensuring best practice in claims management and return to work planning.

**Your duties will include**:

- Provide professional and expert support, focusing on the rehabilitation of the employee and early return outcomes.
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team of health, safety and wellbeing professionals and providing injury management expertise to the team.
- Provide ongoing support to monitor the progress of ill/injured workers' recovery and capacity to return to work and facilitate return to work planning.
- Facilitating pro-active early intervention and prevention strategies as well as contributing to the upskilling of managers to help influence/enhance stay at work outcomes.
- Providing advice and guidance to managers to ensure Victoria Police and employees meet return to work obligations in accordance with the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.

**As the successful applicant, you will have**:

- Demonstrated experience in workplace injury management and return to work planning, in a similar role or demonstrated transferable skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of complex mental injuries would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with other members in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills and ability to build relationships and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience in injury management / vocational rehabilitation is highly desirable.
