The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of it's kind in Australia.

The Family Services teams work with families to promote family wellbeing, participation in the broader community and access to relevant services.
The team provides families with a range of options for culturally responsive support in times of need, with a focus on positive parenting and family interaction to promote children's development.
VACCA offers these services on a continuum from less intensive family support, through to the more intensive Cradle to Kinder and Stronger Families Programs.
VACCA delivers the intensive services programs as an integrated model, where case managers have a mixed case load.
The VACCA Case Manager will work within the family services and Kids Connect space team to support Aboriginal people and their families who are referred to the family services program through a number of referral pathways, including self-referrals and/or from other community agencies.
This support includes providing a regular outreach response to families, parenting support, advocacy, referrals and support, emergency relief assistance, coordinating brokerage support, education, coordination of services, family violence risk assessment, safety planning, referrals to other services such as housing and/or another specialist supports.
About You
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
- Demonstrated ability to assess needs and risk for vulnerable families and help families identify their needs and goals.
- Demonstrated experience working with family members affected by family violence and managing family violence risk.
- An excellent understanding of the principles of casework practice
- A demonstrated commitment to establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with families, colleagues, government departments, sector partners and the Aboriginal Community.
- A tertiary qualification in community services; social work; psychology or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
Requirement: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Drivers Licence
