The Department of Home Affairs is responsible for centrally coordinated strategy and policy leadership in relation to domestic national security arrangements, law enforcement, emergency management, counter-terrorism, social cohesion, the protection of our sovereignty, the integrity of our border and the resilience of our national infrastructure.

The Australian Border Force, an operationally independent body within the Department of Home Affairs, is Australia's frontline border law enforcement agency and Australia's customs service. The Australian Border Force's mission is to protect Australia's border and facilitate the legitimate movement of people and goods across it.

**Overview of the Branch and Section**:
The Section oversees the Identity Matching Services (IDMS) Governance and Compliance. The Section is responsible for facilitating engagement with participants’ access to the IDMS across government and private sector. This engagement includes:

- Onboarding and ongoing support for Document Verification Service (DVS) stakeholders
- Onboarding of Face Matching Service (FMS) Data Holding Agencies and Requesting Agencies
- Management of Hosting Agreements, Participation Agreements and Participant Access Arrangements, and
- Governance and compliance arrangements for the IDMS, including risk management, business continuity planning, data breach response planning, secretariat functions and compliance with privacy, security and other requirements for use of the Services.

This Section also manages Commonwealth engagement and arrangements with IDCARE, to ensure Australian victims of identity, scams and cyber-crimes have the specialist support they need to recover from and minimise the impact of these incidents.

**About the role**:
This position leads the team delivering day-to-day FMS services, stakeholder management and relevant governance arrangements and provides leadership in supporting relevant policy development and has strong engagement with stakeholders.

The role has extensive engagement with the public and private sector requiring solid communication, engagement and presentation skills.

The successful applicant will need to have solid leadership skills as they will have responsibility for multiple staff members.

**Specific duties/responsibilities**:

- Lead all FMS support activities
- Train and support staff
- Support the development and establishment of FMS arrangements
- Plan and implement the FMS audit and compliance program
- Manage complex FMS compliance enquiries
- Lead secretariat functions
- Represent the IDMS in relevant forums
