We currently have a new opportunity as a Combat Systems Coordinator / Design Acceptance Representative within our Maritime Sustainment line of business.This role is preferred to be based in Garden Island - NSW but we will also consider other locations - Melbourne, Canberra or Adelaide with hybrid working and 9 days a fortnight full time working arrangements are on offer.

**Your new role**:
Reporting to Combat Systems Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring system interfaces are established and agreed, system designs conform to requirements and are optimised for integration, and any deficiencies and/or risks are identified and managed.
You will provide engineering technical assessment and advice to Project Offices to ensure the successful integration of the Product Design into the Platform.
More specifically, you will
- Develop all external system interface specifications, and participate in Interface Control Working Groups and System Design Reviews
- Undertake Design Acceptance of complex system and/or equipment designs, including identification of and assessment against critical performance factors
- Undertake the integration and validation of complex system and/or equipment designs with challenging physical and functional properties, including review of integration and validation plans and reports
- Develop, review and endorse Technical Risks associated with Engineering Changes within the parameters of your Engineering Delegation
- Provide assessment and advice in matters of technical understanding
- Contribute to team planning, risk management and quality assurance

**About you**:
**As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- Extensive experience within the Engineering discipline with demonstrated experience in the technical Development and Systems Design of engineering projects
- Experience in most of the following areas of Combat Systems Engineering: Integration of Navigation Systems, Integration of Electronic Warfare Systems, Electromagnetic Interference / Compatibility Analysis, Design for Emission Security requirements, Verification and Validation - Management and Analysis
- Proven ability to function confidently within a project team environment with demonstrated problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment or autonomously
- Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain the necessary deliverables
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations

Formal Engineering qualification and significant experience in at least one Engineering Discipline, e.g. Electrical, Systems Engineering etc. with chartered professional engineer status is preferred.

**Clearances**:
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
