**Your new role**:
As the Configuration Officer you will be responsible for implementing the Configuration Management Practices and systems within the project in accordance with the processes in the Business Management System (BMS) including any sector specific procedures and the project Configuration Management Plan (CMP).
You will liaise with project staff, other groups and teams including the customer to resolve CM issues and ensure the detailed configuration of the project remains known and under control, and that the product configuration can be accurately reported on.

**As part of this role you will**:

- Produce Configuration Status Accounting Reports; Master Record Indexes; Build State Declarations and material for project review activities
- Prepare Project specific Work Instructions related to Configuration Management (CM)
- Prepare CM baselines in accordance with the CMP
- Manage preparation and delivery of CM data deliverables to the Customer
- Maintain the classified information Register and the registration and handling of Export Controlled Material
- Propose, develop and test new functionality for introduction into the electronic configuration management support system
- Ensure data and documentation related to a Product is captured in the CM System and that the approval status of the data and documentation is correct
- Assist in identifying problems related to Data & Documentation Control procedures or systems, and liaise with other groups / teams for resolution
- Identify and investigate CM problems, whether processes, systems, tools or staff, and formulate strategies for their resolution
- Communicate within the CM team to effectively raise issues to senior staff and relevant stakeholders
- Prepare for and satisfy CM audit schedule

**About you**:
You will have demonstrated Configuration Management experience in an engineering environment or an engineering/technical role that involves Configuration Management. You will have significant experience in the use of recognised Configuration Management tools and associated databases as well as experience interfacing with engineering/technical personnel

**As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll also have**:

- Engineering degree or relevant technical diploma or certificate, or related discipline or trade skill with suitable experience
- People management, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Well-developed analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues within, and outside your immediate team to achieve project CM requirements

**Clearances**:
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
