Due to recent growth and a change in structure, my client is now looking for a Purchasing Manager with experience in sourcing within electronic manufacturing.

**The Role**:
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of raw materials, components, equipment, and other goods required for the manufacturing and distribution of commercial electronic. In this role you will develop and implement purchasing strategies, manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure that purchasing activities align with the organization's goals and objectives. As a leader in the business you will also also be responsible for managing a team of purchasing professionals.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet manufacturing goals and objectives.
- Evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure advantageous terms for raw materials, equipment, and other goods.
- Monitor and analyze trends in pricing and availability of raw materials and other goods and services critical to manufacturing.
- Collaborate with other departments such as production planning and inventory management to identify purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of raw materials, equipment, and other goods and services.
- Manage and develop a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, including supplier quality requirements and supplier performance monitoring.
- Prepare reports and presentations to senior management to provide insight into purchasing activities and results, including cost savings and supplier performance metrics.
- Continuously improve the purchasing process to increase efficiency and reduce costs, such as implementing electronic procurement systems or lean purchasing practices.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure that all invoices are paid in a timely manner, including reconciling invoices to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies.
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field or equivalent industry experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience negotiating contracts with suppliers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders such as production, planning and inventory and sales.
- Ability to lead and develop a team of purchasing professionals in a fast-paced complex environment in a global company.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office and experience using ERP/MRP systems.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in purchasing and supply chain management for manufacturing.

To be considered for this role you must have work rights in Australia. Previous experience using Expandable ERP would be highly regarded.
