**The Department**
SBS has now surpassed 13 million registered users of SBS On Demand. With premiere releases, boxset collections, live events, channel simulcasts and catch-up titles, there is more than 15,000 hours of programming available at any time, for free.
We adopt human-centred design principles that let our audiences guide the product, curation and engagement strategies, as we help users navigate the breadth and depth of our diverse and evolving catalogue.
Our product roadmap ensures SBS On Demand is stable and accessible, supporting scale with features that encourage content sampling, allowing for tactical user retention activities whilst meeting commercial objectives.
**The Role**
The Analytics Lead, SBS On Demand will play a pivotal role in measuring the effectiveness of our user engagement, content, and marketing strategies. They will do this through insightful and actionable data analysis of onboarding, retention and release strategies.
Reporting to the Head of Engagement, the Analytics Lead will be responsible for leading a team of data analysts, overseeing the team’s priorities, aligning methodologies and building skills in an increasingly sophisticated digital environment.
They will leverage their analytical expertise to optimise product features, inform content and marketing decisions, and work with the General Manager and Heads of Engagement, Product and Curation to contribute to the overall vision of SBS On Demand.
- Collaborative cross-functional leadership: Work cross-functionally with the Head of Engagement and various stakeholders to align engagement objectives with the SBS On Demand product and curation strategy, ensuring seamless integration into broader content and marketing strategies.
- Data analytics: Develop and execute data-driven strategies to enhance user onboarding, retention, and overall engagement on the SBS On Demand platform.
- Actionable insights: utilize a strong analytical mindset to extract meaningful insights from user data, evaluate the effectiveness of product features, and propose improvements that drive user loyalty, reduce churn, and maximize ROI.
- Team leadership and development: Lead and mentor a team of engagement specialists and data analysts, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Advance analytical methodologies: Employ market-leading data analysis techniques, A/B testing, and experimentation to optimise engagement initiatives, track performance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Performance tracking and reporting: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure engagement and retention. Develop regular reports and dashboards to track progress, analyse trends, and provide insights to senior management.
- Strategic communication: Work closely with the Head of Engagement to contribute to the development and communication of the overarching vision for SBS On Demand, ensuring alignment with engagement strategies.

**About you**
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in driving product engagement and retention in the digital media industry or a related field.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset with experience in leveraging data analytics tools and user behaviour analysis to drive strategic decision-making.
- Deep understanding of engagement strategies, user onboarding, and retention techniques.
- Excellent leadership and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with content programming, curation, and content recommendation algorithms.
- Strong project management skills to manage multiple initiatives and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Experience with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies to optimise engagement initiatives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakehold
