**What does your daily life look like at Yancoal?**:
As the Payroll Specialist you are responsible for supporting and maintaining Payroll processes and systems, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of Yancoal's payrolls as well as complying with all legislative and Award requirements.
Your responsibilities include:
- Ensure Employees are paid in line with the appropriate enterprise agreement or employment contract.
- Administering records relating to Salaries, superannuation, insurance, PAYG tax and other employee benefits.
- Assist with preparing and processing termination and redundancy calculations.
- Complete all year end processes including reporting to the ATO via STP2 and EOY finalisation.
- Assist with the preparation of reports as requested for Remuneration, HR and Line Managers with key processes such as Headcount, Salary Review, management of labour budgets, management of leave and turnover etc. ensuring information/ reports provided to internal and external business partners are correct and completed in a timely manner.
- Input into SAP (and other payroll systems) reviews and developments to support efficient and accurate processing.
- Involvement in payroll projects such as system implementations and upgrades.
- Ensure Payroll activities undertaken comply with relevant legislation, Award and local agreement conditions.
- Provide support, guidance and mentor payroll team and relevant site personnel.
**What do you need to be successful in the role?**:
To be successful in the role you will require the following skills:
**Qualifications**:
- Tertiary education in Human Resources or related discipline is highly regarded
**Skills & Knowledge**:
- Demonstrated use of major payroll system such as SAP, Chris21, Oracle, Aurion
- MS Office (strong Excel skills)
- Strong customer service ethic
- Excellent attention to detail
- Numerical and analytical ability
- Able to work to deadlines
- Demonstrated complex problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to support and mentor
**Experience**:
- Minimum 3 years payroll experience, both weekly agreement/award based (i.e. shift pay, rosters, allowances) and corporate salaried (i.e. salary packaging, bonus processing, deductions)
- Current thorough knowledge of Australian Payroll Legislation, audits and trends
- Experience in system management and improvement
