**The Role**
As part of the Digital Science Engagement team, you will engage with DSTG Researchers to understand what drives their digital research needs, evaluate their business objectives, and facilitate innovative solutions to meet those needs. The team guide complex Research ICT needs to achieve a business outcome relating to technology. These typically require design and resource effort to implement which cannot be met via an existing service offering, including establishing any new services.

This role will see you working under limited guidance from the Discipline Leader, Digital Science Engagement to administer the Work Take On (WTO) process, working closely with the Digital Science Futures and eResearch Project Management teams.

Key Duties/Responsibilities include:

- Collaborate across a team of Digital Science professionals ensuring WTO requests will deliver value and support DSTG Research challenges.
- Work with other areas in DSSC to ensure that WTO needs including the proposal process, roles and responsibilities and approvals are understood and streamlined.
- Strengthen relationships between DSTG Researchers and DSSC.
- Actively engage stakeholders to understand and be responsive to DSTG’s digital research needs.
- Obtain agreement and signoff for Program or Division funded ICT projects.
- Evaluate ICT projects and business objectives to understand critical factors for success and engage in activities to achieve continuous improvement.
- Plan and manage the WTO process and procedures to monitor the delivery of WTO activities.
- Run the WTO Governance meetings, representing researcher needs, resolving issues and recommending corrective action as appropriate.
- Manage the preparation and updating of all WTO documentation ensuring compliance with the agreed WTO governance arrangements, using the agreed WTO management framework, guidance and associated templates.

**About our Team**
The Digital Science Engagement (DSE) team, as part of the wider Digital Science (DS) branch, ensures Defence Researchers and their partners can access an integrated set of digital science capabilities to accelerate and enable their research, both now and into the future.

The team works to provide effective research solutions to customers comprised of integrated capabilities internal & external to DSSC including the provision of integration between the different DSSC capabilities to make an effective end to end research solution.

Digital Science Engagement is central in managing DSSC relationships with Divisions & major research partners. Facilitating communication from DSSC to Defence researchers, with content provided from directorates, including promoting new capabilities.

The team is spread across DSTG’s two main sites at Fishermans Bend and Edinburgh.

We are looking for a communicator and collaborator who will be able to understand the needs of our varied customers and stakeholders and produce results according to their requirements. The right person for this role will show the flexibility to respond to the changing context and shifting priorities of stakeholders and have the agility to realign activities to meet that demand. They will be a person who provides support and guidance to DSSC teams to ensure they are sensitive to Defence needs and direction.
