**The Role**
As the Air Warfare Centre (AWC) Communication & Information Systems (CIS) Capability Manager, you will lead a diverse team to formulate requirements, plan and manage the delivery of CIS capability functions for the AWC. These functions include cyber preparedness and security, CIS planning for AWC-led exercises and capability development to improve the performance of Air Force CIS capabilities.
You will engage with stakeholders across the AWC to identify and scope CIS contributions to AWC activities, develop work plans to deliver the required artefacts and ensure that your team’s outputs align with strategic objectives.
As part of performing this role, you will exercise your people management skills and knowledge. This will include setting goals, communicating expected outcomes and monitoring performance - all part of leading a high performing and cohesive team.
This recruitment activity is expected to be finalised no later than 01 Apr 24.
**About our Team**
Air Warfare Centre is the place that Air Force and the broader ADF come to understand and solve their most difficult warfighting problems. AWC leads and coordinates the thinking and planning that guides Air Command, to maximise our readiness and operational effectiveness, and ensure the integrated force is ready to fight.
Communication and Information Systems are vital enablers for Air Force to conduct activities. Your role in AWC involves understanding the required capability outputs and managing delivery though your talented team and other stakeholders.
You will have the qualifications, knowledge and experience to; effectively deliver Communication and Information System (CIS) capability functions for the AWC.
You will understand and have experience with Defence CIS capabilities and management systems, or similar systems.
You will also have demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to perform planning, scope definition, and delivery management, identification of risks and resolution of issues.
You will be an experienced leader with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders to achieve capability outcomes.
You will be able to achieve and maintain a security clearance that enables you to handle the highest levels of classified information.
Your oral and written communication skills will be highly developed, including the ability to prepare and deliver concise briefings as well as more reports that are complex.
You will also be capable of providing high quality advice to military executives and staff.
