About you
As our, Category Specialist, you will partner with various business units in the College to manage and support the delivery of high-quality procurement and contract management services. You possess the following:
Demonstrated experience in end to end Procurement Category and Sourcing strategies.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, or other relevant field.
Strong negotiation skills with suppliers or other external parties.
Experience building relationships as a business partner to support identification and delivery of good commercial outcomes.
Ability to prioritise work and to meet deadlines.
Effective communication and influencing skills.
Demonstrated experience in managing project activity (desirable)
About the opportunity
The Category Specialist role reports to the Senior Manager Procurement and will work closely with business units, suppliers, the Procurement team and Finance and Risk team to realise project delivery against the Procurement Pipeline. You will be responsible for the following duties:
Develop category strategies to recommend strategic approaches to key categories of spend that are identified as providing value to RACGP through savings and delivery/quality efficiencies.
Perform business partnering activities to identify key areas of addressable spend through tendering or contract management.
Manage the delivery of high-quality sourcing events, including preparation of tender documentation, conducting tender evaluations, clarifications, negotiation processes.
Support stakeholders with the delivery of high-quality contract management, including management of contract process such as variations, payments, extension of time and other claims, and final completion.
Provide ongoing procurement advice to internal stakeholders and business unit contract managers as required and assist in building procurement knowledge and capabilities within these teams.
