**The Role**
Make a difference in our community
An exciting opportunity is available within the Compliance and Environmental Health Department at the City of Whittlesea. The department is transitioning to a new phase with expanded hours of operation.
City of Whittlesea City Compliance Officers investigate and enforce breaches of Local Laws, Environmental Protection Act, Road Safety Act, Road Management Act, and Road Safety Road Rules. Working autonomously and managing your workday this role is required to provide consistent, professional information and advice to internal and external stakeholders and ensure an appropriate balance between education and enforcement.
We need a dynamic employee who are passionate about continuous improvement and ready to take on new challenges. This role will have a focus on ensuring compliance in and around weekend events, recreational areas, roadsides, and unpermitted signage. The role operates from Thursday - Monday and there is no requirement for on call in this role.
**About you**
A successful applicant will:

- Have a sound knowledge of the Local Government Act 1989/2020, Environmental Protection Act 2017, Road Safety Act 1986, Road Safety Road Rules 2017 and Infringements Act 2006.
- Have at least 2 years experience in a relevant Local Government enforcement role.
- Have obtained a Certificate IV in Government
- Be able to demonstrate experience delivering an exceptional standard of customer service in a high-pressure environment.
- Have integrity of the highest standard.
- Be enthusiastic about change in the workplace.
- Be confident working with new and existing technologies.
- Have a current Australian driver’s license.
- Able to work weekends.
