**Assistant Operations Officer. Ongoing role. Primary location Parramatta with possible flexibility across other locations such as Gosford and Wollongong. Hybrid flexible working arrangements.**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Operations Officer to join the Landholder and Corporate Reconstruction team within Duties & Grants, Revenue NSW.
Duties & Grants is part of the Taxes and Grants division within Revenue NSW. Taxes and Grants is responsible for customer interactions for all tax and grant products. We undertake assessments, revenue collection, enquiries, investigations and client education services. We administer grants and use our expertise to research, develop and implement programs to make it easier for our customers to comply.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic team player who is eager to learn and has a focus on investigating, analysing and assessing complex transactions.
**Some of the key responsibilities include**:
- Administering State tax legislation, make assessments and decisions on complex matters and achieve key performance indicators
- Providing legislative and procedural advice to clients and client representatives to ensure they comply with State tax obligations
- Maintaining comprehensive and up to date knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures and business rules to ensure consistency and accuracy in administration of legislation
- Gathering information and undertake research, analysis and compliance investigations
- Case management and the preparation of detailed submissions and reports
- Contribution to innovation and the development and implementation of improved processes
**To be successful in this role you will demonstrate experience in**:
- Client contact and communication skills, analytical and investigation skills and sound decision making skills
- Interpreting and administering State tax and related legislation, providing legislative and procedural advice to taxpayers and their representatives on complex matters
- Case management and the ability to research and analyse information from multiple sources
- Preparation of detailed correspondence, submissions and investigation reports
- A positive and proactive attitude with a focus on time management and achieving business outcomes and key performance indicators
- A flexible approach to work and the ability to work collaboratively and possess a willingness to learn
- Ability to contribute to innovation and the implementation of change

Revenue NSW is the state’s principal revenue management agency. We are part of the Department of Customer Service. Our purpose is to contribute to a prosperous, safe, and fair society by collecting revenue, resolving fines, administering grants, and recovering debt.
Salary Clerk Grade 5/6, with the base salary for this role starting at $89,707 base plus superannuation
