**About the Business**
Our Community and Aboriginal Partnerships Division helps to build community safety and wellbeing by providing support and services to children, young people and families, including those involved with the youth justice system, remote Aboriginal communities, people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and people with complex and exceptional needs. The Department also leads the department's Closing the Gap efforts.

**About Us**:
CYJ works in partnership with internal partners and other government and non-government services to promote community safety and meet the identified support needs of young people.
This includes assisting young people to plan and achieve goals and maintain compliance with court mandates.

The Case Manager position carries out a range of diverse professional tasks and functions, including:
- Attendance at youth courts as a DHS representative and provide appropriate targeted responses from information and assessments to improve outcomes for young people by promoting alternatives to detention and integration into the community through liaison with relevant stakeholders, young people and their families in negotiating the legal system.
- Supervising Statutory Youth Justice mandates and providing quality through-care case management to children and young people.
- Assessment, analysis, reporting and recording on offending behaviours and compliance.
- Strengthening child/young person and family functioning to support non-offending behaviour.
**Special Conditions**
Successful applicant will be required to hold a National Police Check (NPC) no less than 6 months old, and satisfactorily complete an Employment-related Screening Check where this is required for the role, prior to being employed.
Some out of hours work, and intra and interstate travel involving overnight absences, may be required. Must hold a current Australian issued Driver’s Licence (equivalent to minimum class ‘C’ - South Australian), which must be maintained.
Incumbent must be willing and able to drive all government vehicles within their licence classification during the course of their duties.
Additional Note: This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) contract role (or as negotiated) with opportunity for extension.

**Essential Requirements**:
A degree level qualification in Social Work leading to eligibility for (full) membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Alternatively tertiary qualifications in community services, sociology, criminology, justice, correctional practice, social sciences, human services, health or related field.
