- Provide leadership in State Service development and implementation of workforce policies, programs and initiatives, to enable State Service to be contemporary and meet workforce now and in the future. Provide authoritative advice and support to the Director, Deputy Director and State Service Agencies on employment-related matters, including emerging issues and developments at the national and international levels, which have relevance to the Tasmanian State Service.We support reasonable adjustment requests in any stage of the assessment process to remove barriers and facilitate full participation in all aspects of employment for applicants. **Hours per fortnight**:
Up to 73.5 hours - flexible options available.

**Duties**:

- Working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders (including Chief People Officers/Human Resource Directors and senior executive levels within State Service Agencies, employee and employer organisations, private enterprise, and industry and community organisations), review contemporary and emerging employment policy developments to create strategies to address the workforce requirements of the State Service.
- Lead the development and implementation of whole-of-service workforce policies, programs, procedures and initiatives across a broad range of human resource activities
- Evaluate the effectiveness of workforce policies, programs and procedures in supporting the workforce strategies to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead the delivery of critical State Service employment functions, including recruitment, workforce data and diversity and inclusion. This encompasses managing tasks including the Tasmanian Government Jobs Website, employer approval processes, key workforce databases and the associated systems.
- Lead and manage the Employee Policy and Programs (EP&P) team ensuring it has the operational capacity, including capabilities, to deliver the workforce initiatives and critical employment functions.
- Undertake other duties within this level and range of responsibilities which are within the employee’s level of competence and skill.

**Desirable Requirements**:
A tertiary qualification equivalent to a Bachelor Degree or higher in a relevant discipline and/or extensive experience in employment management and/or business management environment.
