We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join Uniting Communities' Advocacy, Communications and Marketing team. This exciting full-time fixed term position will responsible for supporting Uniting Communities’ advocacy project work and providing research and other support to the Advocacy team. The **Advocacy Project Officer** will become an integral part of the Advocacy team, supporting and coaching departmental managers undertaking advocacy across the business and providing research assistance and project management support to the team.
This is a **full-time** fixed term contract until **January 2024,** with the possibility of an extension.

**Duties and Responsibilities of the role include**:

- Work collaboratively with organisational leaders and across teams to initiate, create, drive and support advocacy projects across the organisation
- Organise, research and execute Consumer Advocacy and Research Fund (CARF) projects
- Research key social and political issues, in line with the Strategic Plan, organisational goals and community need, and provide well-researched summaries, responses and recommendations
- Assist in organising and facilitating key advocacy events or forums, where required
- Establish external networks to facilitate and enhance opportunities for collaboration and campaigns as well as research and evidence management practices
